Coping With Grief

Grief will affect most people during their life times, whether it be the loss of a loved one or the break up of a long term relationship, and can have a significant impact on our health and general well being.  How we cope with grief individually will depend on a number of factors including how we were brought up, what other events are happening in our lives and also what support we have from family, friends or professional counsellors.

Some people can find that the loss they have suffered from is too overwhelming, and they cannot see life ever holding meaning for them again and this can lead them to feel isolated, depressed and even suicidal at times.

It is important to understand that grief is a natural part of life, and it is healthy to allow yourself to accept help from other people during this difficult time, and although you will never fully get through the pain of your loss, in time the intense feelings will begin to ease and you will be able to start living life again.
