Alternative Treatments for Back Pain

back painBack pain is a difficult condition to diagnose and treat successfully, and you may have to try and test a number of treatments before you find one that suits you. Don’t forget to include some alternative treatments in your quest for back pain relief, as some of these can be surprisingly simple and effective such as:
* Flotation therapy – this is used to improve the healing process by encouraging patients to enter a deep sense of relaxation, which is achieved by immersion in a gravity free ‘floating’ environment. This is effective in relieving existing joint and muscles aches and pains and also helps to reduce stress, which can be a contributing factor to pain and slow healing.
* Acupuncture Work – acupuncture is very effective at pain relief, as the tiny needles that are inserted into the skin can be used to safely block or unblock natural energy pathways in the body, which can be very effective at relieving pain and boosting natural healing. Acupuncture sessions are also usually supported by Chinese herbal remedies, which can also be effective for treating back pain.

  1. Through my own extensive research and while dealing with back pain on my own, I have tried just about every treatment under the sun. I was at first reluctant to even consider acupuncture for several reasons, one of which was the thought of the getting pricked by needles. However, when no other treatment worked, I looked into acupuncture and quickly discovered that it has advanced in its usage over the years and is now considered one of the best alternatives to common medicine used for back pain.

While it was a relief to read that the needles are painless, to me, one of the most interesting aspects of this treatment is that needles are not the only option. I’ve never been a fan of needles, no matter how fine they may be, and I was glad to find out that there are acupuncture treatments that can be done without using needles.

The Lakeland Spine Center is one of these facilities that can do needle acupuncture and non-needle acupuncture.
